1/144th Prometheus scratch build

Actually I think it may be easier to just make the 4 than to cast all the main bodies in this case. Amazing stuff!!

Hey Peeps,

Thanks for commenting guys

Everybody is right on this one,

It would be easier to cast these but it would take alot of silicon to produce a mold for this when it is relatively easy, and cheap, to produce by hand, especially when you have one to copy. I'm an engineer/machinist/toolmaker so to make 1 or 5 or 100 very much dictates the method i use to manufacture the part.
I will be casting some of the engine sub-assemblies, like the top ring and the bottom ring, that i have already made, for example and a few other bits but before that i need alot of supplies to finish the basic engine blank and be ready for the superdetailing

Not only will i need a good supply of greeblies i also

need to make a list of Plastruct supplies,

i need a vac table for the rounded top part of the engine

and i need some mold supplies, silicon and plastic

Not to mention the lights

Need to rob a bank

:ninja

Very cool work on the engine pieces. Putting your engineer and machinist skills to very good use. You do amazing work and really inspire me! Yes it is expensive!!!

Ello,

Thank you so much fellas,

This is a post to give a big shout out to the power of the forum and my mate MikeJ a premium member here at TheRPF

Top engine assembly layout, originally i was going to trepan this bit from a single 180 degree hemisphere but that was $75 and i would have to use someone elses shop, so i decided i had more control if i sculpted it by hand.
