Ok this is my previous bust in the process of being turned into a statue. This is my first sculpt at this scale (And only my second sculpt ever) so I need to work out the proportions a bit better. This is only the rough stage though. From what I've read a lot of the pros rough out in oil and then do a wax cast for fine detail. I'm going to try and skip that stage.
The real reason I'm posting is because I borrowed a cool camera for a shoot and decided to snap these shots as a test.
The focus is a bit off, the ears are slightly dented from storage and it's still at a very rough stage but I quite like it. His legs are a bit dumpy, I think they should be longer. He stands about 10 inches tall at the moment so I think he could be taller too.
Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. If you've got any experience at sculpting at this scale I'd love to hear it!
