No longer have an old mold - latex piece molding question

I made a latex headpiece a few years back and got rid of the mold, thinking I'd never need another copy, and of course, now I need two.

I *do* have my original latex casted piece, though. Is it possible to make a new plaster mold FROM my latex headpiece to avoid all the sculpting/molding work again? I've never tried and don't want to destroy my existing piece for nothing...

Thanks for any advice!

I would say a very general yes however, as you probably know, latex does shrink as it dries so the new piece will be somewhat smaller than the original. Also, if you are talking about just latex, not foam latex or latex with hair added there's no reason why your original would get wrecked.

Got any pictures?
