Gold Leader's Astromech...What color? Also, cockpit gun?

So I am working on a model of Gold Leader, and I cannot figure out what color the astromech is supposed to be. I have seen varying accounts. Some say it's gray, some say it's silver, and some say it's black.

Case for Black... Is this even Gold Leader's model?







Case for gray/silver...

Also, is the cockpit gun turrets just missing in those studio model shots, or did Gold Leader not have gun turrets on it's cockpit?

Those Artoos were just mount plugs - they swapped like crazy. I'd go with black, unless you want to go with what was in the film - a hole with no droid

Black since he actually is seen in the rebel briefing too.
