Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

The whole movie had a Firefly feel to it.
The bunch of losers doing the best they can with what they've got.
The "friends are our chosen family" motif.
Goofy shenanigans amidst some really heavy stuff going down.
Star Lord's duster.
The scene where Drax explodes Nebula for calling Gamora a *****, after Drax himself just called her one.
Am I the only one who got a Firefly vibe from Guardians?
Oh I get the parallels and the vibe is unquestionable. I thought you meant more overt references.

I just did a search and found an article that claims Rocket's Hadron Enforcer has bits that look like Serenity. Frankly, I'm not seeing it. There's one bit that looks a little like the engine nacelles but the rest looks like a bit of a stretch.

I got more a '77 Star Wars vibe,.....Goofy shenanigans amidst some really heavy stuff going down,....running around the Death Star

I just hope they don't go overboard with the baby Groot thing. I hope this won't be another version of "We've got a good thing here. If we bring in a baby or a monkey, it will be better."

I have to admit to being a little concerned about that as well, but Gunn has been right on the money so far with the tone, so I trust him to not let it get out of hand. It's funny hearing Vin Diesel's grumbling voice pitch-shifted though... and "baby" Groot is apparently not too much of a toddler to violently take out the bad guys...

I think they know to keep characters in balance, and not have too many new characters.

I don't know. It looks like Drax might just give him a run for his money.

And I'm so happy that what it looks like they did was record Vin Diesel saying "I am Groot" and pitched it up.

Also, IMDB lists Nathan Fillion as Simon Williams (aka Wonder Man). EXCITED!

If I remember right, this is only on a poster on earth in a flashback I think? at a scene that takes place near a cinema or something. struggling for memory though!

This was excellent and gave the warm fuzzies. However as some have said, I want the humour to be balanced, which I'm sure it will be.
