RIP Don Pardo, SNL announcer

He'd just retired earlier this year from SNL from what I read. He pretty much was the voice of everything for decades. Bob and Tom had a tribute to him on the radio show today as he' worked with him. He was a smoker but apparently quit when they went up to .25 a pack saying it wasn't worth the money lol

apart from SNL...

I'll always remember his voice awesome narration at the beginning of Frank Zappa's "Illinois Enema Bandit"

And now folks it's time for don pardo to deliver our special illinois enema bandit-type announcement take it away, don...

"this is a true story
About a famous criminal
From right around chicago
This is the story of michael kenyon
A man who's serving time at this very moment
For the crime of armed robbery

It so happened, that at the time of the robbery
Michael, decided to give his female victims
A little enema
Apparently, there was no law against that
But his name lives on
Michael kenyon
The illinois enema bandit!"

He also did narration for "I am the slime" and "Punky's Whip"
