Extremely weathered CO 11th Doctor's Sonic

Howdy folks! I wanted to share a few pics of a project I've been working at off and on over the past year. I took a CO 11th Doctor's sonic, modded it to flick open and added a button to activate it while extended (there are a number of tutorials on YouTube as to how to do this...mine is a variation on an early mod by votesaxon07), but I also got to wondering about what Eleven's Sonic would look like after centuries of hard use...like, say, after the siege of Trenzalore. Now, I could be totally off-base about this, but I imagined that after a while the metal would start to dull and develop a patina in spots, so with that in mind I took my Sonic, painted all of the "metal" parts black, and used Ruby Red Rub N' Buff on the "copper" pieces and Pewter Rub N' Buff on the "silver" pieces. After that, I gave the "copper" pieces a wash of heavily-diluted FolkArt Patina acrylic paint and let it gather in the nooks and crannies to simulate oxidation. I then gave the emitter bulb and the power core a coat of Krylon "Frosted Glass" paint to take the shine off the plastic, and then used Patina Rub N' Buff to give those parts an approximation of the "marbled" look of the prop. A shot of clearcoat dulled the color a little to make this look aged as well. I scribed a few "cracks" in the white section of the handle and gave it a light wash of brown acrylic to bring them out and then a wash of gray acrylic on the black section to make it look like aged leather. My next project is to cobble together a stand for this that would look like a "charging port" out of found items and make it look as old and decrepit as the Sonic it holds. What do y'all think? That looks really cool, but it's kinda depressing seeing an almost destroyed Sonic... Kinda like the Doctor died and it got lost in time or something.

Thanks, everyone! I don't really think of it as almost destroyed...this represents a timeworn but still fully-functional Sonic. We know the Doctor has a spare or two, and this design has proven to be quite robust (in-universe, anyway...it's said that Matt broke the prop at least twice a day early on)--I mean, it was bitten in half by a shark and STILL tried to repair itself! I was partially inspired to do this by the look of Paul McGann's "alternate" Sonic for the 8th Doctor, which was similarly distressed, and I learned quite a bit about weathering building my own version from one of Doc Octoroc's 3D-printed kits. To me, this version of the Sonic shows that, much like the Doctor, it can stand up to the ravages of time and still keep going...
