Yes, I used a quick-grab fabric glue to fix the edges to the back after pressing the seams.
Awesome, thanks so much for the info. As a visual learner, this has helped so much.

These rivets looked a little small when compared to the reference images. And I just so happened to source some screen accurate caps/shells that fit perfectly bringing them up from 12mm to 14mm.

For the shoulder pad section I used an existing shoulder strap I had on another bag for size reference

Pratt is a pretty tall guy (6'2"). I'm only 5'9" so getting the dimensions and position of everything on the strap as screen accurate as possible while still getting the bag to hang at arms length for me was difficult. I chose to shorten the distance around the shoulder area, so mine is about 2-3" shorter.

Then there was the decision on what rivets to use. I found these screen accurate ones that were silver instead of gold.

And even though they are screen accurate in style, they just didn't look right so I opted for the smaller 8mm brass in the same style as the rest of the bags

All that's left is distressing and cleaning up a few odds and ends. Coming up on the home stretch!
Are the oval grommets 1.25" inner diameter or 1" inner diameter?

Where did you guys get your Oval Grommets and D rings? I know some people made them, but I'm just trying to figure out what the best places to get them may be.
I set my grommets with a pair of pliers... Just sayin' :cool

...Mind you, I just woke up and am lacking the ability think straight, LOL!
They make different sizes. I ordered the 1 inch (inner size) version of this before I knew they made this one, go figure. Meh, I'll make do. Good luck!
So it sounds like there's no more of the buckles being sold? Unfortunately I'm not a premium member, so I wouldn't be able to resell them were I to buy them (there's a minimum order needed), but I was just wondering if anyone would be interested if I were to sell them on ebay or something like that. I could buy them and then post a link in the appropriate forum if people indicated that they thought it'd be a good idea.
Sorry, I'm new to the RPF, but I totally love this thread!
