The Star-Lord/Peter Quill Sling Bag thread

I just registered to say, that has got to be one of the best replica bag I've seen so far by Soulinertia *Clapping excessively*. I honestly loved how accurate you made it, and how much hard work have been through it to get it done. One of a kind. ;)

Just if you don't mind, would you happen to still sell the patterns with the templates as you stated before? And I'm not sure, it could be that I passed through the pages where you stated the link for the LTD run forum, I've run back to check and couldn't find, but only the click lock buckles link? Pardon me. ;)

Again, astonishing and terrific work you got there Mister Soulinertia, loved it, loved it, loved it. :)

Just found this thread a few days ago so i had to register. Honestly this thread is amazing and it is helping so much!!

Just ordered some fabric from Soulinertia and found some pretty decent faux leather from a fabric store today. Its fairly soft for faux leather actually, so i look forward to getting started on this bag.

These rivets looked a little small when compared to the reference images. And I just so happened to source some screen accurate caps/shells that fit perfectly bringing them up from 12mm to 14mm.

For the shoulder pad section I used an existing shoulder strap I had on another bag for size reference

Pratt is a pretty tall guy (6'2"). I'm only 5'9" so getting the dimensions and position of everything on the strap as screen accurate as possible while still getting the bag to hang at arms length for me was difficult. I chose to shorten the distance around the shoulder area, so mine is about 2-3" shorter.

Then there was the decision on what rivets to use. I found these screen accurate ones that were silver instead of gold.

And even though they are screen accurate in style, they just didn't look right so I opted for the smaller 8mm brass in the same style as the rest of the bags

All that's left is distressing and cleaning up a few odds and ends. Coming up on the home stretch!

Can i ask where you got the leather for the strap? Im just having no luck in trying to find some, im probably looking in the wrong places.

Where did you guys get your Oval Grommets and D rings? I know some people made them, but I'm just trying to figure out what the best places to get them may be.

@LouisIV I got ya' covered, here, check it out...

They make different sizes. I ordered the 1 inch (inner size) version of this before I knew they made this one, go figure. Meh, I'll make do. Good luck!

I set my grommets with a pair of pliers... Just sayin' :cool

I actually 3d printed a tool for it, then used pliers. The tool just kept the outward face safe.

Also... whilst cutting the leather for my holster pads and sling bag, it looks like I kinda killed someone special...

Sorry 'bout that Gotham!

You rock man! Thank you so much.

So it sounds like there's no more of the buckles being sold? Unfortunately I'm not a premium member, so I wouldn't be able to resell them were I to buy them (there's a minimum order needed), but I was just wondering if anyone would be interested if I were to sell them on ebay or something like that. I could buy them and then post a link in the appropriate forum if people indicated that they thought it'd be a good idea.

Sorry, I'm new to the RPF, but I totally love this thread!

Since you're new and thinking of buying/selling, you would do well to read the site rules about the junkyard. You're not allowed to conduct any "sales" stuff outside it (including posting links to ebay... you have to do that in the JY as well).

What Joatrash said. Please read and adhere to the rules.
