Firstly guys, just wasnt too sure where to put this so thought that this would be ok.
When i first saw Van Halen years ago, i said to myself that i would one day build a frankenstrat. I didnt want to spend the earth on the Fender or Charvel replicas so last October i set about trying to build one on a budget. The end cost was £140, and that includes everything-paint, crap, gunk-the works. So here she is in her glory. She plays quite well for a scratchbuilt and im happy.Complete run down of parts used:
Squier standard body £20
Irongear Hot Slag pickup £25 excellent pickups by the way
Plain single coil £5
Cheapo floyd £20
Second hand no name neck £10
Grover locking tuners (used) £15
Scratchplate,pot,jack,reflectors £40
Paints £5 and whatever was laying around
Ive still got to fit the locking nut, and im not entirely happy with the neck so ill dirty it some more. Also know the middle p/up route is too large, but hey its a budget build.
Thanks for looking and please leave any comments-good or bad
