Inspired by the amazing builds from this site http://www.therpf.com/f79/stormtrooper-pepakura-terra-returns-pics-122443/ and http://www.therpf.com/f79/anh-asyme...-helmet-wip-complete-pics-page-4-84-a-159152/
I decided to give it a shot. Thanks Firefek for the awesome pep file!

More bondo and sanding, formed the ears with a spray paint can lid and mixed up a thinned down bondo and resin mix.

20140529_202228.jpg20140529_202107.jpgI didn't like how the ears were looking so I cut them off and made one with resin and a few bits of random plastic I found around my garage. I plan on casting two copies for each side. I need some tips on how to make the teeth and vocoder, any tips? This prop building is challenging and time consuming, also very fun. I've learned a lot on this first build and reading posts from this site. Good stuff!

I made my vocoder and teeth out of 1/4" pieces of wood, pics of the vocoder can be seen on my thread just follow the link in mi signature, as for the teeth I haven't post pictures yet.

Thanks for the tip GTI, I checked out your build. Here's a small update:
Cast two new ears and put them on, more Bondo and sanding work, added brow and bridge of nose. Tried some Miliput on some detail areas, I found out that a little water on the fingertip smooths out the Miliput nicely.

Beetle, nice job on the teeth! I bet it took you forever to file them down to their proper size?

Yeah the teeth were harder than I expected. Still need to make the small teeth in the corners. Not super movie accurate but I still plan on finishing this thing. I have some ideas for the mic tips, I'll post later if it works.

Threw some filler primer on after some detail work. Also decided to remove the teeth, just need to build vocoder mic tips and re-do the teeth.

Guys, I need fresh eyes and your honest opinion on this thing.

Made the vocoder with rondo I poured into templates I made out of foamies. It looks way to thin to me. Would you tear it off a fabricate a new one?

What do you think about the helmet overall?

I like it! Nice work. As for the vocoder... Yeah it looks a little thin. The rest looks great

I like the design. but to me the vocoder looks a bit thin and somewhat disproportioned to the vocoder area. What thickness are they ( 1/8") ? Perhaps you want to step up to 1/4" to help filling the void better.

Thanks guys, 1/4" thick seems much better. I hate doing things twice but in this case it had to happen :thumbsup

20140830_212958.jpgReady for paint I think, does anyone know if "Dupli-color Perfect Match"Automotive spray paint is good?

20140829_185919.jpg20140829_193529.jpgAlso made some ghetto mic tips with my kids school supplies, I'll buy some good ones later.:lol
