1:1 Persona 3 Aluminum Evoker Replica

Hey guys, thought it'd be a good idea to post this here, being a replica prop and all :)

I'm an 18 year old learning CNC machining/ tool and die making at school and work, and wanted to share with you guys my Evoker replica that took me around 5 or so months to get to this near-complete state (all that's left to do is final polishing and a little paint strip in the brass insert). It has a functional slide and trigger (they're springy). I did have a slide over-travel stop and make-shift slide lock, but due to a last minute design flaw with the assembly, I had to rework some things, removing those features.
My references were all over the place so I picked the ones I liked the most and stuck with them. Mine resembles the most from the persona 3 manga and some of the in-game cut scenes.

If I ever made another, the safety will be functional and act as a slide lock for forward and back, and over-travel stop will be re-added, among a few other cool features.
Body is made from 6061 aluminum, trigger is heat treated A2 tool steel, grip inserts are brass, and the grips themselves are made from nylon. Comes apart into 9 main parts.
Machines used: Wire EDM, HAAS CNC mill, prototrak conversational mill, and an old bridgeport when the prototrak wasn't available.
Pics are quite large

Hope you enjoy, I learned a LOT from making this (haven't made anything like this before). Sorry for not posting a wip thread with progress, I didn't find out about this forum until I was much later in development. My dad is making a really nice all real white leather holster that is almost done, I can post pics of that too here when its ready.

I do have a more in-depth progress thread here with more pictures, but I didn't want to spam too many in the OP: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1378200

Here's a pic of me in my cosplay for this weekend coming up:

Holster is basically finished, just gotta attach it to the holster with some rivets and I'll be ready to go

Will post pics after attaching

Great seeing new talent!

Its a shame there aren't more younger guys/girls at my school interested in CNC, maybe they just dont have the mindset or whatever.
I'm the youngest in my class, the second youngest is in his mid to late 30's, the rest are 50-60 years old and are just there to collect a paycheck :/

Well, if you show them a lightsaber that you made, it might pique interest. The idea that you can craft anything with some imagination and ingenuity has got to be appealing to at least some people.

Its not that, I mean, they love the cool little cnc keychains and stuff I've made- its just they dont have the ambition, the hands on-mind set if you will. They think all the stuff is nice, but I'm saying they don't want to get involved in what it takes to get to that point at a younger age

Well, then, maybe this is a calling. :)

Notes: One of the main reasons it took so long is because I have never done anything like it before, and had to learn a lot along the way of making it. Making another would not take as long.
The references were all over the place- some were square, some rounded, etc., so I decided to stick with the manga/p3fes cutscene version, due to personal preference.
