Puff paint, do I need to stretch the fabric first?

Hi

When puff painting a complete spidey suit, do you apply it on the suit just laid out flat, or does it need to be in a stretched out state as if it were being worn? (ie on a duct tape dummy of yourself)

Puff paint is expensive, i wouldnt wanna screw it up!

Great, thanks, I think a carefully measured cardboard cut out of me will be easiest to stretch it out and give a flat surface for painting.
