venom suit (Help)

We are now 7 hrs post pot time so it should be fully cured. But only the top has cured so far. That is farther than I got with no paint barrier between the clay and the Rebound 25. I will Let it sit over night to see if miracles really do happen :) ........ but i am not going to hold my breath.

If any one has fixed a similar problem I am all ears.

Have tried to cover the clay with a spray on acrylic but it did not work. the top did cure but it left a tacky lair between it and the clay. So tonight i am painting 3 coats of 3 different types of paint over 3 separate peaces of clay. One will have 3 coats of a spray on clear polyurethane, one will have 3 coats of black Krylon spray paint, and the final will have 3 coats of a brown Rustoleum paint. I will let them dry over night and then coat them with Rebound 25 in the am. If none of them work than i will scrap this sculpt and use a clay i know is sulfur free. !!!!!!! Don't try to save a buck, get the right stuff the first time. !!!!!!!! LESSON LEARNED

Kills.............. ladies and gentlemen Kills is my saviour. Two coats of the spray oil based primer and we are in business the Rebound 25 cured in about 6hrs. now I can finally move forward.

on another note the web shooter prototype has been made and works rather well. I will post a you-tube video later this weekend.
Web Shooter pre-plans

Web shooter overview:
A hollow chamber for loading my "webbing cartridge" will be disguised by venom's classic white rectangle located on the back of his hand. a shark bite coupling will be used to secure flexible nylon pressure tubing to the chamber on one end and a 16g co2 pump/ discharger on the other. The Co2 pump will be in-closed in the control box disguised on my hip. The "Webbing cartridge" will contain a specialized streamer pack. The control box will also house the primer for the saliva tubing and the toggle switch for the tong motor.

WEB Shooter Trials:

2.

I am not done will post more later I still have more ideas to improve the device.

Well, I worked and worked with the 12G and 16G co2 cartridges to no pro vale. :( just not getting the desired effect, so it is time to step it up to the big leagues. I just bought a Ninja compression release valve/ coupler and will be retrofitting it to the device posted in the above links. The Ninja apparatus will allow me to attach a 9oz co2 tank and up my psi to just shy of 1,000psi. I had to consult a specialist with high pressure tubing in order to insure i would not blow off my arm in the process. :) I will commence testing with the new set up tomorrow and post a video showing the outcome. Wish me luck......

Looking better and better. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I have ordered Mylar streamers and magic pour streamers to trial for webbing. If at first you don't succeed try and try tell you do. :)

I am happy with the pressure. now I just need to find the right product for the webbing... I hope my streamers show up soon... this trial was not bad, I like the black fishnet webbing but it takes up a lot of space and the weight keeps it from going further than 8 or 9 feet thus far. BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARDS.

Had to change up the C02 tank. The 9oz to big to fit in the costume so changed to a disposable 3.2oz with adapter.

I'm loving this concept!! The build of the suit looks awesome! Looks extremely detailed so far and I love how innovative you got with the Webbing concept. Have any ideas of how to lower the sound of the CO2. Or if anything, create like a trigger switch for the Ninja Gauge?

I have a plan with the ninja gauge to wrap it with a series of wires that will come together in a braided form that will then be covered in epoxy for added strength . The end triggerwill then be painted black to disguise it as one of the tendrils on my right hip. As far as the sound I think it will be the price I pay for the added pressure but if you have any ideas I am all ears. I am playing dad today :) but may be able to post a pick of the concept later.

there is better visualization of semi finished tendrils in my 3rd video post.

FINALY my pour streamers came in... I have put together a make shift barrel for the streamers to fit in and connect to my co2 tubing. Just have to wait for the epoxy to dry to do the first test shot.

Ok the make shift barrel i made last night did not work it was two lage and alowed the co2 to escape without much force behind the streamers.... so i unrolled the steamer until i hit the seven individual roles and then I inserted them one at a time into the previous barrel made of pvc. this worked much better. still have some tweaking to do. on the video i shot you did not see all of the streamers unravel as i shot them out of frame. :( but it did rather well. they ended up hitting the garage door so i speculate that in an open aria i could get them to shoot out 20 to 25 feet. this is my video followed by a stock video from the manufacturer.

I Need to know from you RPF individuals do the silver streamers take away from the Venom feel because they are not black. that is my only fear with proceeding forward with this particular material.
