ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

Waiting for licensed replicas is nothing new. I'll order the first order stormtrooper and happily wait as I have for everything else I've ordered. I don't think I've ever gotten a licensed replica on time. It's just part of the fun now.

Many of us have done some small vacuforming projects at home, but seeing it on this scale truly gives us goosebumps. A sea of white armor that translates into a lot of dreams coming true very soon for an Empire of Star Wars fans!

We also have a few photos of the rough cut pieces which should be very close to how you’ll receive them if you ordered the kit version. All raw pieces come with a thin layer of clear protective plastic that simply peels away. Note that the helmet will also come completed (unless you ordered the helmet kit as a standalone item), and the cloth belt with real leather holster will come pre-assembled including the “thermal detonator” cylinder for the back of the belt. One less part to build!

If you guys can't stand waiting any longer and are willing to risk getting banned for life from Disneyland, you can try stealing one of the display Anovos costumes from the new Star Wars exhibit :lol Starting around the 10:00 mark.

holy **** that is this monday!! dude thank you so much for letting us know I had no clue, I just bought my tickets and now to call my boss and let him know I will not be coming in on Monday
 
Is there anything we cant pre-order from them? I sure wish they would wait an release an actual product first. I would have ordered a lot more stuff if I had that warm fuzzy feeling of actually holding a product in hand. This crap is prime for a huge let down. Every body yelling "For the price I paid I don't mind waiting" Yeah that's fine for an established company but does any one have an actual molded costume from them?

I ordered a TIE Pilot costume back in June. Shipping date was estimated to be sept. I got an update a few weeks back saying they are still waiting on material approval, and are redoing the armor molds etc etc. I'm done. Shipping date was now updated to June 2016! I cancelled my order and got my money back. I'm disappointed.

Honestly it's a win-win situation. Either you get the armor, or you get a nifty prison sentence to pass the time waiting for your real order to ship!
 
I'm a little annoyed with the terms of their license. They say they can't ship to locations (like here in Australia) because their license doesn't cover all regions. Does anyone have any further info on this? Terms like these are usually because an existing licensor is covering the region. Would that be EFX?

Pretty annoying getting these Anovos newsletters with about half a dozen products I would have preordered by now. (Not saying I would have received ​them by now...)
 
It's not new with Lfl to have to buy the license per region and tier (toy, costume, prop......).

And if a license decides not to spend the money for a certain region, then there is only the second market to get the stuff. Think Finemolds, license only for Japan, every other country you needed to import yourself or buy at higher prices by unlicensed importers.

Merchandising licenses(like distribution licenses) are split up by regions and sometimes countries. They are further divided by product type, sometimes down to separate licenses for the seemingly similar products(e.g. 6" figures vs. 12" figures or metal prop replica vs. plastic). License holders have absolutely NO control over how these divisions are made or how they are limited. All they can do is pay the licensing fees and release product as instructed.

Thanks for the reply. I have some experience with distribution licenses; I guess I'm asking whether anyone on the RPF has knowledge about the terms of this specific license. Not that I imagine there's anything that can be done about it.
 
Newest update for Solo rig:
"*Han Solo Holster Rig: Production complete. Still pending safety testing and packaging. Current estimated delivery: November 2015"

Not sure what they mean by delivery. Delivery to buyers or delivery to Anovos? Either way, it is 19 days till the end of November and I am skeptical that what still needs to happen will get done by the end of the month. I guess we will see.

It is now 12 December and I am going to say that my concern with their estimate was valid.

I think a problem is that the ones coming up with their ETAs are overly optimistic. I am not sure how they come up with their dates but they need to take a lesson from Scotty and start padding their times. I would rather them had said January and be pleasantly surprised with a December delivery.

It's not about that at all. It's my concern for Anovos and those we know who are a part of it. They have established a process which rewards buyers by pre-purchasing early on in the concept/prototype phase with cheaper prices. However I believe that this discount price benefit will be tarnished by customers who will not receive their items nowhere near the ETA.

Now for me, I am going take my item and just sit in on display so whether I have it now or later, it has no impact. But there are those who rely on ETAs for costuming reasons and events. Regardless of why you purchase an item, I have often found that people will be comfortable with a long wait if they know what to really expect. Remember that this holster was slated for a Fall 2014 delivery... then May 2015... then November 2015. Adding insult to injury, until recently updates were few and far between. So at this point the damage is done, not with just the holster but the same with other items customers are waiting for. IMHO, this may sour people to repeat purchase or for those aware of the delays to refrain from purchase. These individuals may turn to fan produced items instead. We are seeing this with Efx and the Biker Scout helmet.

I really don't want anything bad to happen to Anovos which is why I am making this plead for them to develop better delivery timelines.
