How did you make the floor grating? [/b]

Hey guys,

Thanks for the great comments. We are trying to get it done as soon as we can, its just been a pain juggling it with our day jobs. By the way, a lot of time has been spent designing the parts so it can be assembled as a static model or pinned together so the joints move. I have set up the details that are covering the hinge points as seperate pieces so the pivot point can be installed and covered with the detail. The pictures above have a couple of parts that are still white, those details drop into a recessed area on the joint to register it in the correct position, all the joints are done this way. I have tried to make this as simple to assemble as possible and I will post more photos soon that show some of these features.

Take care.

Just looking at the tile looks like its design matches the LV 246 grates. I think the power loader was used on the Sulaco. Steve.. are you guys gonna offer castings of the Sulaco style grating to match the 1/4 Queen base tiles?

Looks Fantastic. My queen is lonley. Cant wait. Someone said there where shots of the Ripley sculpt somewhere... can you post them here?

They were all the same grates on both sets. A little fun fact: the grates used in aliens came from the back lot of a company that had been storing them for several years. They got them from the 1st Alien sets when production closed down.

Cool info.

The Sulaco floor tile is different than the one pictured under the Powerloader. see below

The picture below shows the LV 246 style grate that were also used in Alien. (Pulse Rifle not included)

The below picture was used on the Sulaco hanger floor where we see the dropship and Duel between Queen and Powerloader.

I know Steve had the molds to the 1/4 sulaco tile was just making sure it was the one that was going to be offered with the power loader and not the one shown. No biggie.

Gonna have to watch the movie again. I just never noticed the 'Cat' word on the loader before. Awesome work though.

Actually, both tiles are present in the Sulaco bay. You might remember "her majesty" pulling them away to get to Newt when she crawled under the floor. The "sulaco style" tiles are on the opposite side of the airlock.

You have a printer that will print a 3d image on wax :confused .

Where can I learn about this?
