Back To the Future Jacket Sleeve Help

Not sure if there's a way to start a poll, but... I've been making a few BTTF II jackets for a while now, and am currently making a new one. I was curious if people had a preference for the sleeves. Should they be long and adjust to fit? OR fitted without having the option to extend? I'm not all that happy with the fact that I'm using velcro to adjust the sleeves. I wish there was another way. But... then again... maybe people don't like the "long sleeve" look. Thoughts...????

A working jacket will always be way cooler! I'm interested as to how you attach all of the latex to each other. Doesn't seem easy

Personally, I never understood why people would want the unfolding function, unless it autosized (which it never will). This is a prop replica and for the most part it will never be displayed or worn with the arm extended.

Hey guys thanks for your feedback. When I put mine on display I usually like to have the left arm extended. Just cause the two different lengths "tells a story" in a sense. That way people who may not have seen the movie since the 80's might look at the jacket and think "oh yeah, the sleeves adjusted to fit! I forgot about that" lol.
But jedifyfe makes a good point that "auto adjusting" will never happen. There's a pic and video floating around that displays 4 or 5 puppeteers actually controlling that feature. But I guess it depends on individual preferences. Whether someone wants the Marty Jr look or Marty senior. But even I'm kind of torn between the two different styles. The way I make the sleeve bellows can be a very time consuming, strenuous and a bit risky process, so it would be a shame to have them permanently folded up.
Anyhow... the reason I ask is because I will be donating either the jacket seen above (or the jacket I'm currently working on) to a Universal Studios fundraiser in 2015. I believe the jacket will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to the MJF research for Parkinson’s foundation. So I'm hoping people will be happy with functioning sleeves.

I like the unfold to and folded option that gives a unique varying approach for the wearer instead of having only one perspective. I'm looking to have a BTTF coat done by you?

Hey everyone. I've been away from therpf for a REALLY long time. But i plan on hanging around for a bit again, and I've made a new jacket recently. Ill post some pics. It has a different stile belt and cuffs, and more accurate red pattern. Ill post some better pics when i get a chance. 2015-08-12 17.54.13.png
