Full Size Matt Smith TARDIS (pic heavy)

A friend of mine owns a comic book store in Nova Scotia, Canada and he needed a shed to store things in. I suggested we build a TARDIS so at least he could have a cool looking shed outside the store. He also wanted to learn how to build things as he has no experience with building anything so a shed was a good project to teach him a few things, after all it's just a big box.

We chose the newer Matt Smith version as that's what he preferred although I like some of the older designs better but as he was going to pay for the materials it was his choice.

The build took about 60 hours total spread out over 2 months (a few hours each weekend). It's mostly Pine structure with oak plywood stained blue to allow the grain to show. I had another friend print up the signs for the doors as well as the light boxes and I also hand built the light for the roof so we could light it properly.

I drove it around town before I delivered it to the store and we must have done it at least partially right as we literally stopped traffic a few times. It's also really funny to see people hanging out car windows on the highway trying to take pictures as they pass you.

Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks guys. It was a lot of fun to build. We have had Peter Davidson (the 5th doctor) come do a bit in front of it for the local news as he was in town for the local Con and we gave him his own key.
