Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and classic spy props

I am a fan of the Le Carre novels and the film adaptations of his works. I especially like the recent (2011) adaptation of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I am now thinking about starting a little collection of classic spy props. Especially from the cold war.

Is there someone with a similar collection, or perhaps someone with props from Tinker Tailor? I would very much like to see pictures or/and hear your ideas.

Back when the film came out, I toyed with the idea of making the chess pieces with the photos on them.

How would the "Pencil Clip Compass" work?

It'll most likely be magnetic, so you can dangle it on a thread (or put it in water) and it will point north. You can do the same thing with needles, but they're not as discrete as a pen/pencil clip.

Bump.

I am currently working on the chesspieces (thanks for the idea). It is quite hard to get all the pictures right since some are rather blurry in the film.
