Quidditch World Cup Map Replica

Firstly Hi to everyone. I've never posted before and wanted to say that the work I see whilst browsing is incredible and you are all amazing!!!

Now my question. I've been trying to build up a set of HP props for an epic party I'm planning but one I'm having trouble getting a hold of, or replicating is the Quidditch World Cup map of the campsite. I've found a few pics but don't have the artistic talent to do the figures included. Has anyone tried and succeeded/failed this one? I see the programs a lot but I'm looking for the map which comes with the Ron Box.

Below is a pic I found but it's not hi-res enough to print so I appeal for help. Many Thanks.

PS- Any one who knows of the Chudley Cannons poster also in that box I'm interested in that too. :)

have you checked out the free paper props section as there is a whole section devoted just to Potter stuff and is chock full of stuff as long as its for personal use you can print off anything your heart desires

Yeah. I've been looking at all the incredible stuff people have made/are making/have found but this one (and the Cannons poster) don't seem to be there. That's why I'm asking for help. Living in Australia makes getting the official Ron box very expensive (even with ebay) and I want it better anyway but don't have the drawing talent others clearly do. Of course if I've missed it please let me know. :)

My daughter has the Ron box in her collection but unfortunately both the campsite map and chudley cannons poster are too big for our scanner. When she gets home from school I'll ask her if she can scan them both in sections unless anyone else can figure out a different way of doing it.

If you do that it would be brilliant! Thank you! I think that's part of the problem, the fact that they are too big to be easily scanned. If you or your daughter can do that I'd be very grateful! :D

Hey alib1149,
scans are done but I have no idea how to upload them onto this site. so if you want to pm me your e-mail address i'll forward them on for you. :)

I have forwarded the scans to Barneyrfd via email with a note asking him to add them on this website so hopefully they will soon be available for everyone to use. :) :D

Yes I did get it Welshbird, thanks much.

The scan is in a three pieces and a little hazy so I thought I would take the liberty to brighten it up a bit and stitch it together if that's okay.

Just one thing though, can you give me some dimensions of the map both folded and open so i can get the scale correct?

I think this is a 2-sided map correct? Could you also show a picture of it folded and sort of half open so i can get the orientation correct.

Thanks so much for providing this.

I've pretty much got the images sorted out just have to lay them out for printing. There is actually 2 pieces to the map. The cover and the map itself which is glued to the inside of the cover so it pops up when opened.

So here's the PDF files I put together from the scanned images graciously provided by welshbird.

They are on setup to printout full size on 8.5" x 11" paper. Just printout, trim to graphics, fold the inside map following the creases and glue onto the cover piece. You might want to print the cover onto a thin card stock material to give the map a little stiffness. Good luck and let's see a few of the completed maps posted here.

Thanks again to welshbird for providing the scanned images.

Thanks BarneyRFD for the map! I printed them out, but I printed the cover incorrectly (wrong scale, too big). Still turned out great though!

Tip for those assembling these: took me a while to figure out the folds, there's 2 subtle horizontal creases that are hard to see on the map. I have included pics to help those folding their maps. Works awesome!

I love this map so much, and it's a great easy prop to make (thank you from the bottom of my heart bfd). The plain white paper made it feel a bit too "muggle" for me though so I printed a parchment background on both sides of the sheets of paper before I printed out the map and did a fold-and-tear for the edges to give it a slightly rougher look. I love showing it off to friends & family who are fellow Potter fans when they visit.
