Iron-Man MK 5 Foam Build Complete [PIC HEAVY]

Another foam iron man thread from me, :lol this time, the famous ironman mark 5 from iron-man 2 (one of my personal favorite tony stark suits).

I'm using Syrus54's password protected Mark 5 files, -10% scale. I built this to prove that password protected files can still be built, and to show support to Syrus54 :thumbsup thanks buddy for these files!

This will be the first full suit i'll be building this year 2014, the heartbreaker is done last december so it doesn't count :lol and the gemini armor is still on the painting progress, I'm planning to paint it together with this mark 5.

Title will be "slow foam build" since I've been busy in life :lol I usually build stuff around 10pm to 6am, so no one in the house can be disturbed

here's what i've got so far, the chest and the collar plate,

i think it fits greats, still i need to build the back section later this morning, or evening :lol

thank you guys!

appreciate all those views and positive feed backs :thumbsup

Re: Iron-Man MKV Slow Foam Build W.I.P.

Like I said..........HALL OF ARMORS AT YOUR HOUSE!!!:lol

I honestly can't wait to see you do the helmet. I tried twice.....both epic failures. Too embarrassing to show pics of them. The trouble I had was the channels, you know the detail lines. They never come out right for me, and they tend to warp areas of the lid. You won't have to worry about that, though. You're doing it in foam.:)

I loved seeing the Syrus Gemini lid you did, too. I think we're the only ones who did the syrus helmets and posted them.

Looking forward to another bad ass suit!!!:thumbsup

i just freehanded the details on the forehead tab and use a soldering rod for the detail lines

Can't wait to see more!

thanks man! still like your build though :thumbsup

Nice. Let me know if there's any missing pieces or anything.

thanks buddy! i had a question though about that line gap between the unibeam base and the collar area, is that supposed to have a gap like that? :wacko

sorry for the flashy pic, i guess i need to seal this part and paint it with silver for me to see the details more, just like what i did on the heartbreaker, :lol

i haven't attached the lower spine section yet, i might glue it permanently on the back of the ab piece

next will be my favorite part of the mark 5, the ab piece :)

Re: Iron-Man MKV Slow Foam Build W.I.P. [TORSO DONE]

having problems with the ab piece, specially the side and back parts, the front is fine, it fits great, but the side and the back won't fit properly, so i will freehand the side to back part of the ab section

i will build the cod first before deciding to rebuild the ab section freehand

Re: Iron-Man MKV Slow Foam Build W.I.P. [ABS DONE with minor problems]

Damn.. NICE :thumbsup

Anyway, if this is what you're talking about:

Yes, there's supposed to be an Indentation-thing there.

As for the Gap between the back and the Side, I recommend a Red T-Shirt.
Or, if you need, I can stretch that particular part, and send it to you if you want to unfold it:

It's mabey an Inch or so Taller.

Of course... When you make the HIP, it's supposed to rest in the grooves/channels, and THAT should help push it up enough, so you dont have that gap.
