i have layed these pieces apart since i found a great lasercutter ill be lasercutting most parts out of cardboard
here is a pic in wich you can see the difference in scale between my model and the 1/2500

i still build the low detailed body first afterwards ill start building the detaills with scratch build as well as the help of a 3d printer

Re: 1/400 Stargate SG1 X303 Prometheus

Fun at work calculating and drawing Some sketches for Connection from main body to nose
Does anyone have Some experience with electronics
The goal is having a start up sequence
- light on wings
- lights on main body
-lights bridge
-then engines firing up after that lights like hyperspace
Should that be possible with a arduino?
I'm thinking i Will Need someone to do it for me the programming
Oh well back to detail drawning board looks like i Need lots of airlocks

Did anyone notice that the airlock where the roque nid agents is blown through is the Same airlock where the naquadria hyperspace module is ejected
On the outside it looks like its the same

Re: 1/400 Stargate SG1 X303 Prometheus

So not much building during this Month i'm actually Will be only 4 days at home this Month
24-25-26 and 31
The rest i'm working offshore luckily i'm home for holidays
So in my sparetime i have been taking lot and lots of screenshots and working Out ideas on how to build everything
I found a Guy who made a 90cm (3feet) long Prometheus
image.jpg
And i was able to get in touch with to get the plans he used
So i'm at moment altering them for my build when i get back at the end of the year i can Finally start my build in An higher speed then it was now
I'm hoping i can show you guys Some renderings of the detail pieces by end of january

Re: 1/260 Stargate SG1 X303 Prometheus

So i change to the guys plans so that i could Lasercut everything
i've just send the nose and hangarbay to the cutter on friday so i should have them by next week
here you can see the main nose against the modelkit it's huge

Yeah, the 303 went through a lot of redesigns/re-uses the time it was used. I think the art department had some arguments over which part of the ship would serve as what.

The "nacelles"(by lack of a better term) for example. In the first few episodes they just lit up blue as if they were part of the engine. But later on in the season they suddenly had a door and were used as the fighter bays (just like in the later x304's).

So it is really up to you to decide which part you see fit the best. But its looking great!

Finally someone who thinks the Same as me i thought i was looking wrong
The first episode i can understand since the x303 wasn't ready yet
I have send Some small pieces to be laser cut to Philly
And still waiting for the larger pieces from ponoko its still not been manually checked ACCORDING the tracker
So i'm drawning details at the moment

Re: 1/260 Stargate SG1 X303 Prometheus

Re: 1/260 Stargate SG1 X303 Prometheus New pics 22/01/2014

allright here is a big update
i'm back home found my lasercutting pieces waiting for me so i'll show some pics of the pieces and the test fit of the nose
since it is Cardboard its good and cheap for prototyping but not really for detail pieces i'll be cutting them again at a local lasercutter
anyway here are the Pics

Re: 1/260 Stargate SG1 X303 Prometheus update 22/01/2014

i'll be resing these 2 parts tommorow (fiberglass resin) and than start filling up the annoying holes that cardboard has
here are some pics for size comparison and no pink tape ;)

and one piece nose wing (still with pink Tape)
As you can i don't have the front piece in the nose at moment the card board was to fragile for it so i'm getting it done in styrene
;)
What do you think guys
