What if the X-Men movies were made in the 60s

I don't know if anyone else has seen this yet but The Nerdist had a fun little article that featured their casting choice for an X-Men movie if it were actually made in the 60s back when the comics first came out. The cast of characters would only include characters that had been introduced as of 1967 when they would have made this fictional 60s era X-Men movie. Some interesting casting choices, most of whom were very well known actors both now and then.

can we put in Clint Eastwood as Wolverine?

Peter O'Toole- Iceman
Audrey Hepburn- Rogue
George C. Scott- William Stryker
Ursula Andress- Mystique

The only problem with that casting is that with the exception of Iceman none of these characters were introduced during the 60s, at least not to the best of my knowledge. Rogue was first introduced in '81, Mystique was introduced in '78, and Stryker wasn't introduced until '82 so none of these characters could possibly appear in an X-Men movie made in the 60s, however with the exception of Audrey Hepburn playing Rogue (she would have been well into her 50s by the time we first saw Rogue), the others might work if they were cast for an X-Men movie made in the late 70s or early 80s.

On the subject of an actual 60s X-Men movie, how do you think they would have done Ice Man back then? None of the other characters that were around then would pose much of a problem for 60s era special effects but Ice Man I think would prove an interesting challenge for the effects artists of the time.

Iceman would have to have been stop motion or something even for the effects let alone if he had to be in makeup of any sort it'd be easier to have a puppet. The x-men really didn't have a huge collection of enemies until Chris Claremont came onto the scene. In the 60s you had like Magneto and baddies that just made the rounds in various comics.
