how I made the under shirt. All i did was rip the seams out of an old shirt traced it onto the leather and then cut it out super easy lol. The not so easy part was hand sewing the damn thing together I ended up breaking 3 needles in the process, but hey I think it came out pretty good for a first time sewing HAHA. I am thinking of adding some weathering to it just to make it look older and used, any suggestions.

Ok here are the gauntlets from start to finish I know there not 100% accurate to the game but I like the taper look on mine better then them just being square :) .

Ok so here is how I made the upper body armor. I started by drawing out the shape i wanted for the front out on one side and then cut that one side out I then traced it out on the other side and the glued them together. I then traced the full piece out onto two other mats. I then cut them to the shape they needed to be. As you can see by doing this it uses a lot of mats lol I then did the same thing on three more mats but left out the V neck and BOOM you have yourself the back. for the insets what i did is i cut the part out and then traced it on the other side I then flipped the two parts and put them in the other ones spot. I did this to give it that texture look that the game has. Oh I also took the time to cut them in half now that's a pain trust me lol.
to get the cool detail look I cut out some crafting foam that I found at Target it comes in a brick of 50 so you have plenty the only down side is your armor looks as if it was made by barbie :lol .

Well here is the Dovahkiin helm from start to almost finish lol anyways. I started with one piece of foam and went from there to tell you all the truth I really had no idea how to do this and where I would end up in the end, but hey this helm is probably one of my best works to date. When I first started the profile of the helm was just flat and I really didn't like it, so I cut a small slit in the back of the nose and then bent it back so it had some nice shape to it I then filled the slit with hot glue and let it cool. doing that made it hold its shape, but to further the shape I hit it with my heat gun and that defiantly made it have a much better shape. Then came the detailing of it I started with all the little lines and boy did that take forever lol I the added the nose. What I did here was start with the base layer and then I added a thin strip of foam on the bridge of the nose going up and then added the top layer and BAM you have given yourself an awesome looking edge to the nose. For the horns I made a role out of the heavy foam and then cut a hole into the helm. I then jammed the foam role into the hole and cut the extra that was in the helm out and there you go some nice mounts for your horns. For the little rivets I just use some thumb tacks and for the horns I just bought a viking helmet from my Halloween store and they fit very nice. Note that these horns are only place holders for right now I eventually want to get some real horns for it. For the battle damage all I did was draw some lines on it just to know if i would like the placement and then I took a dremel tool to it and there you go you have just slayed your hundredth dragon lol. Oh and the writing on the back right side of the helm is my name in dragon script because I'm just that big of a geek lol. Anyways all I need to do now is slap some paint on this bad boy and I'm ready for battle.

Just finished the paint job on the helm I think it came out pretty good all I need now are some real horns and I thin it would look sick.

Looking really good. For some reason I have the Dovahkiin theme song running through my head! Looking forward to seeing the whole ensemble together.

Great Job Dude I really like the Helmet. i just STARTED ONE OF THESE yesterday. But i cheated and made a foam pep file. that i hope turns out will i am doing mine in cardboard ad will fiberglass it and bondo

Re: Dovahkiin helm and steal armor. skyrim EVA Foam build

Very nice paint job !!

May i ask you if you get some foam pattern for the helmet ?

No I didn't use any pattern for the helmet I kinda just guessed measured and cut it till it worked. The only thing I had as a guide was the game itself and it worked out pretty well since you can get a full 360 of any part you want.

Hey thanks OBI WAN, and very nice are you going to be posting any photos of it on the forum?

Re: Dovahkiin helm and steal armor. skyrim EVA Foam build

I want to make one of those helms pretty badly. I might suggest adding some "aging" to the horns, they seem pretty white. No offense either, but do the horns seem a little "off"? I feel like they are supposed to be larger.

No offense taken at all :) I agree with you 100% they are a little small for it. I plan on getting some real ram horns in the near future, so these ones are just place holders for right now. Also they are way to white so I hit them with some aging, so now they look a tad bit better just not anywhere near what I want them to look like.

I'll add a photo of what it looks like now a little later today. :D

Re: Dovahkiin helm and steal armor. skyrim EVA Foam build

Just a quick question. Does anyone know where to get some real horns or even some cast horns? lol

Re: Dovahkiin helm and steal armor. skyrim EVA Foam build

I have seen them for sale on ebay but i could not find any in the right shape for this but you might have better luck. the ones i found are for taxidermy.
