So I had every intention of going as WorkShop Tony Stark this year and that meant getting the Muscle Tee, Mind Control Headset, and Armor'ed Arm and Glove. Things started to get expensive:

1. Falke Women's Dayton Shirt $90
2. Arc Reaction $90
3. Mind Control Headset $200
4. Armor'ed Arm and glove $80

Total Halloween $460. Sheesh, that's more than my entire batman outfit last year. So...I decided to make a few changes.

1. Cosplay Iron Man Shirt (cause my Falke was too small) $45
2. Arc Reactor $90
3. Mind control headset DIY $43
4. Armored Arm and Glove (Skip)

Total Halloween $200, Much more Reasonable

The headset is really the focus of this post but overall I'm ready for halloween. Here's some basic info for how I made the headset. It's a rough prop and not screen accurate but does the job well.

Supplies I already Owned:

1. Heat Gun
2. Hot Glue Gun
3. Xactor Knives
4. Dremel
5. 2mm Foamie Sheets
6. 6mm EVA Foam Best Step
7. Plastidip

Things I had to Buy:

1. Poly Carbonate Sheet (lexan) .06mm $7.00
2. 2x Photon Light II (blue) $16.00
3. HIP Styrene Sheet .06mm $10.00
4. Silver Metallic Spray Paint $10.00

Total Cost $43.00

Here's how I made it. DIY Pictures to come

1. Make templates for head band (14inch x 3/4"), Side bands, top/side retainers, clear HUD
2. Cut headband and side bands out of styrene, shape using heat gun and bowl
3. Cut HUD (eye piece) out of poly carb
4. Cut light housing out of 6mm foam (1inch x 3 inch rectangle)
5. Spray Paint headband and side bands with silver
6. Cut top/side retainers out of 6mm foam, then half lengthwise to get 3mm effective
7. Cut detail squares and inner band from 2mm foam. Glue details and inside band onto hand band
8. Glue Photon Lights into foam housing
9. Glue everything together
