this is how i made mine, layers of card cut and glued only a few differences,i would say great minds think alike ,but my minds not that great ..lol

Point of "pickiness". I think the "E" in Dredd should have 45 degree ends beveled on the top and bottom horizontal legs but not the center leg as is the reverse in the design you show. Just a minor clarification for those wanting a little closer to screen used look.;)

Yeah the font isnt exact, but that can be amended after, just wanted to make things easier for people to do..:) not everyone can afford to buy a badge, and for me 90% of the fun in this kind of thing is the making, more than the wearing or use of it..

It's a great idea. I'm sure it will be of great help to those not able to afford a cast badge or just wanting to build their own.:)

Just thought I'd share the badge I made from the template, so everybody can see the results. I used craft foam (I would not recommend it) - just printed out the templates on paper, glued it onto craft foam sheets, and cut it out with an exacto. I've never used craft foam for anything, so I really had no idea how delicate it could be or how hard it would be to get clean edges, but it still came out very well for a homemade badge. Actually gluing the paper to the foam stiffened it enough to cut pretty good lines.

The templates are badass. The only thing I would change is take out level 6. It seemed redundant, and I decided it would be a good idea while I was cutting out the tiny letters in foam (it would eliminate one set of letters) and I really hated cutting the letters :). Also, I only needed 3 sets of letters to be flush with the top where the instructions said use 4 sets.

I used the name generator, and it worked really well for Hughes. My name is Champion and i used the generator because I really didn't want to cut out the anderson profile and figure out spacing from the supplied letters, but it is definitely tight with so many letters in the "Dredd" name angle. I'll post the final Champion badge later. After cutting and gluing, the spacing got lost a little bit, but i still think it looks awesome. I'll also have to add painted pictures.

Hi i used cardboard that came with some A4 envelopes i had, the kind of envelopes used for keeping documents flat, with these the badge was almost the exact thickness of a screen used badge, hope this helps!

Cardboard was about 1mm thick...maybe a little less, the original was 9.46mm thick, and the new template has 7 layers...

so for each layer you just used one piece of 1mm thick cardboard?(so the badge would be 7mm thick) or multiple stacked for each layer?

sorry for all the questions. I like to really know what im about to build before i build it lol

just 7 layers in total, all personal preference how thick you want it, all depends on if its for a costume, then youd have to measure how deep you need it to be to fit into the armour....

I was wondering, if there is time, if you could make a templte for the 1995 Dredd (stalone version) cardboard belt buckle template?

I'm still a long way from being finished, however, I can't seem to find the belt buckle, unless I pay $50 for something that's usually around $15

Got my badge printed, cut & assembled!

Much thanks for getting that template out there!
