what is the best way to heat a piece of plastic the size I suggested? My oven isn't that big, so I was wondering if there was another way to do it.

Hey man, you could try James' from Xrobots method for heating plastic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maH5Ech0wK8

about 4 minutes in he talks about his heating method. He built a hotbox out of wood, foil, and a space heater. quite simple yet very effective. hope it helps man.

Thanks pal! I might end up either doing that, or just forget vacuum forming and make it using a mold and clear resin... not sure yet! Whichever is more "doable" I guess :)

I saw James' vid on his hotbox. That's what I'm plannig to use when I get to the vacform stage of my current build (Deathwatch mando)... Definitely more convenient than using my oven!!!
