Dark Knight UD replica - Does it soften up?

I've had my UD replica of TDk for a couple weeks now and have worn it a couple times. Once for a photo shoot etc... And I can't really lift my arms even shoulder high. I know it's leather, which is notoriously stiff out of the gate. So, is there a recommended way to break it in? I've talked to some bikers who say mink oil is a good way to go? Is this something to try? Or just keep wearing it and breaking it in? I have removed all of the CE armor, and it is form fitting, I'm not complaining, just curious as to what to expect. I've seen some people use them in fan made movies to fight in, so it must loosen up at some point right?

My actual bike leathers took about 3 months of heavy riding/wearing to break in. These are about 4X as stiff so it'll take some fairly regular wear to get it broken in not just a few outings.
