Hi,

I haven't seen Aliens since I was a kid (because it scared the crap out of me.)
Let me tell you, I've been missing out on one of the coolest, most badass movies ever made.

Since I saw it again today, I was itching to build a pulse rifle. Even if it wasn't 100% Accurate. I have to have one. I'm not really much of a prop maker/weapon maker but I will do my best.

The plan is to just make a quick test version using things I had around the house. because I can't really wait for the airsoft guns/styrene to come in. So, I'll just make it with what I have around. Foamcore, toy gun, hot glue, ruler hobby knife and luck

Total cost of this build was probably around $10-$15 bucks.

So here goes.

I'm using a really cheap electronic toy gun as the base for now.
It will do. I've used my hacksaw to trim off some parts so it can work.
Still needed more areas from it removed. Like that mag area needs to go.

I built a quick Sliding stock. Will figure out a way to have it slide.

Thank Kevin,

here's a bit more progress.
I've completed the main body section in its rough form. I'm pretty happy with it so far. The Toy gun fits inside very snug.
Going to try to tackle the Grenade launcher before the night is over.

Once that's mocked up, it will really take shape.

Stef is a machine, hammers out pep armor in a weekend. ;)

Looking great man, should be done by Monday at this pace.

Thanks guys. I can't really sit around when I'm motivated. I need to see it finished. I get too excited.

Here's some more updates. Started work on the grenade launcher and barrel cover.
I have the toy gun outside primered. Suprised that it's actually drying in -1 temperature.

Maybe I'll have it done by the end of the day?... we'll see.

Looking good with the gun inside. All fitting together well.

Finished up the barrel and launcher cover. I don't really want to cut out all those vents. I think it will annoy because I will have to do it all over again for the next gun I build with better materials. I'll save that and just detail it by hand to simulate the look of the vents for now.

Foamies are amazing things, aren't they? With enough foamies and enough glue, anyone can make absolutely anything. :)

This is foamboard though. Doesn't really like to bend much like foamies

but I agree. :thumbsup

The chapstick idea is GREAT. Me, I didn't think of that---for grenades on my Colonial Marine armor, I used the nerf-style Buzz Bee shotgun shells:

I think they look better than the screen-used grenades. ;)

As for my rifle.... It's finished!

All painted and such. I'm going to make a quick video showing it off. Looks really cool!

So now you got a pulse rifle and a Morita---what's next? The sniper rifle from "Predators"? ;)

Can't believe you managed to design, paint, weather AND assemble this thing in 24hrs!! Outstanding!
(Might just have to have a go myself and see if I can beat ya!)
