Here's a section of texture from the Metro 2033 game Volt Driver. I'm looking for the best way to create a texture like this on primed/sealed MDF...
I was thinking of applying the base bright metal pain, followed by splotches and color variation for rust and general discoloration (brush, smear with damp cloth, etc.). Then apply a thinner black wash and rub off with very coarse sandpaper or some other rough material get that scratched/abraded look. Rub the black off on corners and such high spots to create shiny "worn" areas.
I have some bottles of Model Master Gun Metal and Metallic Black from an old model - I had thought of using either of those as the surface.
But having never done this I thought I'd ping the forum and see if anyone could offer any advice.
