Quick question on bondo/body filler

Hi

Just a quick question on bondo aka body filler.

Can it be used to coat catdboard armour pieces or will it crack?

I dont really wanna use fibreglass and am hoping that as bondo is polyester based it will be bendy rather than brittle!

Thanks

Even the best activated fillers will crack, under pressure. Fiberglass cloth/matting, and fiberglass resin would be pretty tough. I've seen many different putties, put through major, and minor stress on vehicles. Without proper reinforcement, it will crack!

Aaaah man, what about a polyurethane resin? I dont really wanna use fibreglass and was hoping i could just brush something on

Hi M,

I had the same feeings about fiberglass before I started working with it. It's a very simple material to work with. And it will take a beating before it cracks. :)

Cardboard is flexible. Bondo / Milliput hardens rock solid.

Not a good idea to use one medium with the other if you intend making the product from both.

If its just to cover, you could, but I would say as the others did, go with fiberglass.
