Hi Guys. I'm having difficulty finding an accurate Derringer pistol for my National Treasure collection in the UK. With the strict import laws, I am unable to import from across the pond and the ones I am finding over hear are just not accurate enough.

He is the one from Wiki.....

And these are the type I am finding over here.....

Baby Philadelphia Derringer pistol

Relics - selling Henry Deringer Philidelphia pattern nationwide

Deringer Pistol Philidelphia USA 1850 - G1018 - Hand Guns - Western

As you can see, they just don't cut the mustard so any help would be appreciated

Thanking you kindly

Paul :thumbsup

Have you tried specialist sellers of antique and deactivated firearms? If you buy "Skirmish Magazine" from W H Smith (next issue should be out at the end of the month), there may be a specialist seller advertising in the magazine. Alternatively, join the Living History forum and see if any of the members can help.

Not sure if this helps you at all, but being as this pistol pre-dates 1870, it should not fall into the definition of a realistic imitation firearm - see here, section 38, sub-section 7 and 8.

Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006

Hence it should then become an imitation firearm, able to be imported by anyone over the age of 18.

Oooooooh...interesting. I thought it was generally a blanket ban. I will look into this. As for a deactivated firearm....they seem a tad expensive. I think it'll need to be a replica.

Thanks guys :cool:thumbsup
