Dark Knight (Joker) Bank Robber Mask Repaint

The mask had some yellowing and the color was off, so I repainted and weathered it to make it a little more accurate. Didn't come out as good as I would have liked, but it was a fun learning experience.

Pics in order are:

How I received the mask
A full Repaint
After I weathered the mask
A pic from the movie

Any chance to know how to weathered the mask? Especially how did you make the blue paint wear off?

Sure. After I painted it I used the rough side of a sponge (The green/pan scrub side). I would quickly swipe the sponge, repeatedly in the same direction and lightly make contact until I got the desired effect. I also used an scalpel for fine details and some fine sandpaper which I used like the sponge. I used soot weathering powder for the dark soot. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the useful advice. I am waiting for a painted one I've ordered, just in case I need to apply these techniques.

Hi,
I'm wondering if I could get your advice on what to use on my joker bank robber mask, I got it back in 2013 from a UK company called Fan Universe Creations (which the business closed in early 2014) And it has gotten some sun damage on top. It's made out of Resin plastic,One of my friends suggested peroxide paste, Im iffy about using it because it could take paint off. Your advice would be much appreciated
