Casting silicone into a silicone mold (and painting the finished thing)?

Okay guys, I have a silicone mold (made of caulk silicone) from which I already pulled some wax copies, which worked pretty good.
Now the idea came to me of putting silicone into the mold to make a silicone copy. As silicone wants to stick to silicone, I know that mold release is crucial (even if it's only vaseline, but something has to be inbetween).

Up to this point, am I missing something?

And if it works, my question is, how can I paint the finished thing? Except for silicone itself, I guess nothing really sticks to silicone, so how can I prime it?

Versuchs mit Royal Jel-E. Funktioniert super! Ich bin mit dem Fuse FX System extrem zufrieden!

smooth-on sells a line of silicone paint. Personally I have really only seen people pull silicone out of urethane molds, but if you really make sure your mold release is applied properly I don't see why it wouldn't work.
