Howdy Folks,
I am new to this forum, and I wanted to share a project with you that I have recently completed. The picture attached is a hand forged replica of Connor Kenway's tomahawk from Assassin's Creed 3. The tomahawk has a mild steel body with high carbon tool steel forge welded into the blade & spike for the impact edges. The blade & spike are differentially heat treated & are fully functional. They will punch through a US Army kevlar battle helmet like a peanut shell. The handle details are all hand made. The handle itself is stained curly maple with silver wire inlay. The end caps are cast pewter with hand filed detail. The feather is from a wild turkey.
I tried to merge the images from the game with historical methods & materials. Below are photos on the forging & shaping process if anyone is interested.
