BTTF Marty Sunglasses

With all BTTF props and costume pieces, time is what makes or breaks the accuracy :thumbsup Rushed jobs usually turn out less than great

First teaser:

Yes, those are the semi-mirrored lenses as discussed earlier in the thread. I'll get some more shots later this week. I've also got a few different nose pieces I'll be trying out.

Great! Looking forward to more photos. Very fun indeed :D Is the bridge fixed in place?

Ok... so here are the prototypes again:

Now, there are two different nose pads available; one are more rectangular (rounded corners) in a translucent white, the others more "teardrop" shaped and clear:

The lenses... they're not as reflective as I thought they'd be (now seeing them in the frames). Though they do photograph pretty well, in person they seem more like just dark shiny lenses. Here are three photos (from left to right): indoors, outdoors side lit, outdoors facing the sun:

So... should we try sourcing more reflective/mirror lenses?

Special thanks to my mini-McFly model.

Yes I do believe we should look for more mirrored lenses. Also would it be possible to source long oval clear nose pieces? Like the ones I posted earlier.

I thought it was believed the original nosepads were more cloudy-white than clear.

Since we do not have pictures of the glasses other than screen caps we can't know for sure, but they are definitely long ovals. You could offer both clear and translucent. I've worn the same pair of glasses for years and at some angles they look translucent, but head on they are clear. The picture I posted from the movie you're seeing the angle that makes it look translucent.
