EDIT 2.17.16: 4Shared removed my file so I am now hosting it on my own domain.

I have been working on a sith acolyte model. (Download Link below my blah blah)

So I started in blender and traced the frontal outline of some others I've seen around..

Then unfolded it...

The only thing I forgot to fix was part of the eyes. Easy enough to glue on after the fact (notice the corners on the outer part of the eye.

Anyways.. process involved two prototypes.. this is the one I'm using...

So on to my questions...

Right now I am starting to pep a hi res gauntlet (not sure which but it's halo).. what do you guys do when you're near the end? I could barely fit the glue gun into a helm.. it just gets messy near the end of a small piece? Like do I hold the glue area open and squirt it in and hope to get it positioned before it grips?

Resining... do I use a clear acrylic to seal up the paper before I resin? or do I need "supports" inside the piece? Do you do only one side of the piece, or do you support it somehow so you can do a full coat over the whole thing in one sitting?

These are all questions that are kind of answered in my mind but I wanted current opinions.

Thanks all, and especially you all rock for being amazing inspirations.

wow impressive work, I'm sorry the guy that is answering you right now is even more newbie to pepakura than you!
In fact I even reach the softwares with your post :unsure

I'm not sure to understand clearly your questions (not a natural english speaker) but:
the glue: it seems we have to use only what paper can afford, not too thick ones...

resining: it seems that we have to take it very slowly: first a side, wait its hardening, then the other side the next day, then add some fiber fabric with resin and keep going slowly day after day, I have read that the model is to weak at first to afford a lot of resin weight...

it take time but not so much money...:)

and now a question for you:
would you mind to share the blender file with me? I need a special feature on the sith mask for my project, I would prefer to start from your 3D works since my only knowledge on 3D rendering was from autocad 20 years ago :cry and your work is the better start I will ever found

anyway, THANKS a lot for sharing this amazing work, this HELP A LOT!!!!

i got hands on the real mask model of the game, it needs some work to add some details, if anyone is interested please let me know

do you have other pep file for the acolyte (armor, gauntlet etc) ?

Sorry no, I just used other parts. My costume is a made up character based on the Acolyte. Also I was lazy and used Halo parts for the gauntlets as they were readily available.

Ha, just am realizing my folds are all backwards.. need to invert it, but I've already printed.. so looks like my lines will be on the inside.. lol

Boo I guess I can't flip the folds unless I undo unfold and re-org.. so looks like it's staying this way... lines and numbers on the inside...
