Costume summary and tons of pics below. THen, check out my comprehensive build-thread here! Avengers Black Widow - Pics & Upgrade Plans!

This costume has actually had a couple of iterations/improvements. The biggest hurdle was actually coming up with what in the world to use for the fabric. She's got a very obvious texture and after a lot of discussion with fellow RPFers, I decided to do a double layer system - solid black spandex under a black mesh.

Well, lesson learned and make sure you get spandex mesh! While normal mesh stretches, it also tears very easy and i ended up ripping all the mesh off my first suit. Still looked awesome, but not up to my insane standards. So I sold it and began round two.

I had sketched up all the lines where i need to put the bound seams in and thus took a two-part base pattern and made it into i think 17 peices... kind of insane.

Picked up some good mesh, sewed it all together and BAM new suit of amazing awesomeness. Actually wore it for a Hathaway Catwoman costume before Widow. :)

I commissioned someone to laser cut me masters for making shield patches and i sculpted (actually, re-sculpted from my originals) my widow bites and belt buckle. Made molds of all that and used silicone to do the patches so they're flexible and colored resin for the bites and buckle. Learned lots about casting, got to play with a ton of new materials and even built myself a pressure chamber for casting the resin. I'm SUPER excited about how my patches turned out, and actually will be offering patches, buckles and bites in the junkyard starting the 4th or 5th of Nov. I need to figure out a way to add a backing to them so they're easier to attach to things, then they'll be ready!

Boots were tough to find - I fell in love with the Puma boots but couldn't find any in black AND my size. Ended up purchasing a brown pair and actually airbrushing them black. I opted for IM2 style boots as I think Alexandra Byrne's choice to put Widow in wedges was a silly one. Also, my hair is long like IM2 because I liked it better than her short Avengers style. :)

The pistol belt was half purchased, half constructed. Purchased the belt proper and the holsters, constructed the drop-leg attachments and belts.

PIC SPAM!! <3
