Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

There are rumors now that this is Adam Driver and as was previously rumored, he is a collector of Sith artifacts. So maybe it's an ancient Sith sword. Cool idea.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

The reason REAL WORLD swords ever had the cross shape was to gaurd your hands from losing fingers or whole hands when blocking.

Only TRUE masters left out some sort of protection at the top of the hilt...

If you hit someone's sword... It coud slide down twice as hard from both fighters leaning towards each other...

For a "non sith" badguy... This only makes sense.

In any universe.

Revan?

Not a huge fan of that saber hilt design. I could get on board with the character appearance, but that saber is a bunch of nope.

That is so dumb! If you were good you don't need a guard, you block with your lightsaber blade. It's also dumb because we know there are metals that block lightsabers. Heck there are swords that will block lightsaber blades.

Between that and the AT-AT horses they talk about... well I hope they were concepts because those ideas are dumb. If those are in there, I don't want to hear any more complaining about the Prequel designs or the EU!

First look at a screen used Episode 7 R2D2 built by club members Lee Towersey and Oliver Steeples at last nights Star Wars E7 Wrap Party in London! I got these images off Lee''s Facebook page last night around 11pm and awaited confirmation which I got early this morning!

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Do we know if the R2 Builders Club are responsible for the weathering also? or just building him. I'm not knocking their work by ANY means, and I'm so excited and proud for them that they were able to make the ep. vii R2, but the weathering job does look a little too airbrushed to me. Instead of having the appearance of dirt and grease building up in the natural grooves, it looks a little too even and intentional with the brown misting.

Don't get me wrong, I think it still looks fantastic and I'd gladly take this ANY DAY over a CGI flying R2 with go go gadget oil slick and rocket boosters.

Lee and Oliver cannot comment due to NDA about parts and build process... they are part of a team so others may have applied the weathering. Also this is but one droid and who knows what scene(s) this one appears in so we may be taking this weathering out of context... its possible this particular droid is weathered this way for a particular event like a firey space walk/repair or blast carbon scoring due to a major battle... the other R2 builds may look very different in weathering. Remember, Dagobah muddy R2 weathering looked way different than the Artoo seen on Hoth! New Hope had 8 R2 builds and each one had slightly different weathering.. even the opening scenes we had "mr. rivety" with all of those screws holding the skins in place and a big dent on the top dome panel yet he didn't look that way once he landed on Tattooine. :D
