YAY! I'm glad you guys are liking this. I may be a one hit wonder though... I'm too fat to be Bobba Fett or anything else fun. No one seems to mind a fat Ghostbuster though. (Thank God!)

Shock Mount -

Drill a bunch of discs out of 1/8" and 1/16th styrene

If it were not for good beer I would never get any sanding done.

Yay! I registered a year ago and only posted a few times before this. So we are in the same boat. There is just SO MUCH AWESOME that these people are building here. It blows my mind.

Crank knob!

I wanted something that was a bit more interactive for my crank knob (It just doesn't sound right to say... My crank knob.) I got my cast pieces from Multimedia Mayhem and I highly suggest them.

Put a set screw in first

Drilled out the bottom to fit the post and the nut

This is a 6 position switch that I removed the stop from so that it will spin a full circle. It has a satisfying CLICK-CLICK-CLICK when you turn it. $3 at Radio Shack.

Heh, I used to do props for theater. But nothing ever had to have the level of detail this stuff does. In the last year I have made five packs with my friends. Four out of pink housing insulation and the Pep pack. Here is my last Styrofoam that I made as a birthday present for a friend out of all the left over pack parts we had and some pep items I whipped up to fill in the blanks.

I also set him up with a uniform and goggles etc.

But other than that, I think most of all anything that has helped me has been related to growing up in the Hot Rod industry.

Your gonna make a fat man blush here in a second. And thank you. :)

I'm still learning. Everyday. There are things I want to play with like a rotocaster and a 3D printer. But I'm also a daddy. So college funds and toddler beds come first.

I'm a daddy, too (mine are 4 and 7 - both girls)
I'd love to do casting and 3D printing and am going going back to University next year to do a SFX degree (I'll be 43!)
Like you, I have taken many tips from the skilled people here and have done things I'd never thought I'd achieve.

Keep it up my friend :)

NOPE! In fact you are doing better than me. I blame theater for making me lower my expectations in life. :facepalm

OK! More stuff!

Booster Frame. The screen used ones were built out of pencils and flooring material. Well, that stuff is cheap! So why try to change it?

Some scrap styrene and some pencils and a strip of the grip stuff you put on your front steps.

All said i'm $8 in this. I could have gotten a nice cast one for $12. But that's just not as fun.
