PVC Foam Glue

I read a little bit today about how some people mix plastic shavings with acetone to make a paste-glue, and use that to 'weld' two pieces of plastic together.

I mostly use PVC foam, anyone know a similar way to fill in gaps/glue pieces together? Or how you you all fill in PVC foam gaps. I use magic/epoxy sculpt, but it's not great and doesn't bond to the pvc foam very well.

How toxic we talking here?
