Hi! I have boobs and I make...

Hello! My name is Kerrie and I am also one of those of the female variety! :)

After graduating from a model making university course I have decided to jump into the cosplay scene. I'm very new to all this so I'm still learning as I go but my first costume will be the 1987 RoboCop! (Not at all girly I know ahaha, but feminine isn't my thing, I wanna be a police robot! Lol) I'm only 5ft 2 so I know I'm way too short for the character but to be honest I don't care, I'm too short for most things and there's nothing I can do about that besides stilts.

Eventually I hope to try my hand at creature suit making! I'm talking Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, Gigan, Velociraptors and maybe a dragon or two!
Oh my god. A girl that is not only making a Robocop suit( Im subbed on your build thread btw) but then you want to make monster suits too!??! Thats awesome! Why are all the cool girls overseas?! :cry

Hahaha I have been binging Godzilla films and games all week! :lol

I was considering trying my hand at making Trespasser from Pacific Rim before I fully decided on building RoboCop first. (Two films I can watch 1000 times and never get bored of!)
I love monsters, dinosaurs and dragons. I've done so since a very young age which safe to say has become very part of my identity growing up :D I earned the nickname Dragonlady at my old work too~

I would LOVE to do a MechaGodzilla someday myself, so I'll be on the lookout for your eventual thread!

I am no longer allowed to make props like I used to :(

Combine a fairly severe allergy to epoxy with fragile skin and a completely crap immune system and you have specialists throwing the terms "fingers have very little flesh" and "osteomyelitis" at you and you start to take it seriously :/ Especially after having to deal with year long infections in lungs, sinuses, skin in the past.

So I have learned some 3D file making and testing print files over several platforms for small projects I just to mold and cast, and have bought some polymorph pellets to prototype. I can still do leather forming, and can still scratch build from PVC sheets and pipes but it's still a bit risky.

But I do really need to stay away from urethanes and polyester resins where possible too.

I had to clear my workroom of anything that has been exposed to epoxy, and even just moving the bag of cabosil was a bit not great ;)

So I've also had to get real about projects and work on ones that will give me good wear for a few years. But otherwise yep, I make everything I wear and hold or glue to myself as prosthetics ;)

You said you've started working with 3d file making; have you gotten into 3d printing? PLA should be completely nontoxic, and can be glued up with non-epoxy adhesives pretty well (with your skin, I assume you also stay away from CA glues?) - anyways, 3D printing is taking my cosplay maker mojo to way new and awesome places.

Cheers!

Thats awesome! I love me some Godzilla. What did you think of Shin Godzilla? I personally cant wait to see your Robo all done, to me, thats the holy grail of costuming, it actually got me into SPFX.

One day, though it won't be for quite a while. I'd like to make the 1974 Mechagodzilla, it has a special place in my heart for Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla was the first Toho Godzilla film I ever saw (I still have the VHS! Although our old player ate the tape last time I tried to watch it so I don't know if it even works anymore). I might try Final Wars' Gigan next, as I can visualise building that one easier than Mechagodzilla atm.

I actually haven't seen Shin Godzilla yet as it hasn't been released in the UK :( I'm dying to though but I don't like watching things illegally online so I'm holding out for an eventual uk release that isn't the one showing it had in a Scottish horror film festival (complete opposite end of the UK to where I live). Based on what I've seen around in pictures and gifs online, it looks insane!
Ahh thank you!! Im working my way through the right thigh at the moment and should have it done and added to my thread by the end of the day! A couple of new comments would be nice ;) ;) ;)

I actually don't remember which was my first Godzilla movie but it *might* have also been that one! I fell in love with the Toho kaiju all over again back when Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters was a gamenight staple between me and my friends, about 15 years ago...

I can't believe I haven't posted here until now! I have boobs! I make!

My favorite things to make are small detailed props, but I'm learning more about sewing costumes and making prosthetics! So far the project I'm proudest of is my Handsome Jack, complete with prosthetic mask. I have so many ideas about what I want my next project to be, but right now I'm just upgrading and perfecting Jack.

Got your attention? [emoji38]

I know there are TONS of other talented ladies on here who make props, costumes and other stuff. I'd like to know who!!

Hi,

I normally just work on costumes, before Halloween and was actually drawn to this site due to your awesome Poison Ivy Arkam Asylum costume. Last year, I was Mystique from X-Men and thought I needed to keep it going this year.

Thanks for your amazing work!!!

Hi ! I mainly build armor (Warhammer 40K, Skyrim etc). I've done more male characters than female recently...(having a small chest is perfect for crossplay...).

Oh, and I totally suck at sewing (this stuff is so hard, if you screw up you cannot sand it...)

Resurrecting this thread! Wish I had been here in 2017 to see all the amazing projects and support.
Finally finished this for Halloween 2019... also did a full suit of armor for a short film I'm making! It's about a cosplayer!
