OK guys, I figured I would start sharing my progress so far here. I am building a Reach spartan of my own design (basically whatever armor parts I like and some other special additions I decide to throw in the mix) this should he a fun build!
So so far all I have pep'd is the chest, helmet and forearms, pretty good start though.

Well havnt had much progress, had to redo her helmet due to it being too small.
But here are some additional progress pics.
Bit of what I'm working on now, left to right, Gray Knight helm (true scale) that I am donating to my local hobby store, my wife's MRK VI helm as a start to her armor, my armor start and the EOD helm I'm finishing

Got the MRK VI pep'd for the wife tonight. Need to put in the struts to keep its shape till I glass it. Now I will glass both her helm and mine and do a piece at a time so we should be finished about the same time

It test fit very well and sits nicely on my head
Also managed to get some bondo work done on this as well

Other good news, both lenses/visors shipped today, so when they get in it will be more of a spur to get more work done on these so I can get to that point.

Major update fir this weekend guys, got my wife's helmet 90% finished.

Here I tried painting silver to try something that didn't pan out. Wanted to use toothpaste and cover corners and edges and then paint the primary coat on. It worked fine just the color my wife chose for the helm didn't work right with this color silver.

I used epoxy putty to fasten a bolt in place drilled a hole in the visor and then fastened it in place with a bolt. Used Blackula's tut for reference

Well my helmet liners arrived yesterday and my wife's helm is now oadded.

I have to stick some foam ear pads in the sides of the helmet so the helmet sits right on her head but otherwise I got that all taken care of.
 
Just to show you guys I'm still active. I've had a few things in real life come up and I haven't had much time tk work but I did manage to get both chest pieces glassed and rondo'd as well as both pairs of forearms. Still working on finishing my helmet though

Wow! Too bad no one else has commented on this, because this is an awesome build! I love how both of the helmets are looking so far, and you got some really good progress done. Keep up the good work!
 
The helmets and armor construction look good thus far! My only comment is actually more of a question: I would think the hard surfaces should be smooth as glass, and glossy - is this not correct? Not knocking the work, but you could probably sand/paint/sand/paint/buff to your heart's content on these.
