TDKR Catwoman build/costume study ( pic heavy )

I found this site on ebay while putting together a costume for one of the girls:

OK, here is my wife all done! I, sadly, ran out of time before all the little details could be done - the coppery bits on the mask, the fancy build and functional pivot points of the goggle arms, and the bias-tape linework on the bodysuit fell by the wayside (and her belt pouches were 5-minute foamies/hot glue things at the 11th hour - I just now noticed how comically huge they are, oops).

I think she looks awesome, especially for a grand total of $80 or so.

This thread shows what I did to make the mask, and its rocky beginning.

Great work! I too was less than impressed with the early shots of TDKR's Catwoman outfit, but in the movie it just WORKS. In fact it's much more functional (with the exception of the high heels!) and realistic than any other Catwoman costume and has quickly become my favorite (it's also a nice tribute to the 1960's Julie Newmar suit). If they had put her in combat boots like the recent comics, the outfit would have been perfect.

gvmaraio, that mask and goggles are outstanding, as you've probably heard. Model is super-cute but the suit looks like there's a bit of room in it! Get that lovely lady a sandwich!

So the suit material didn't get here on time for this past weekend party! I know bummer! So I had to make a fast catsuit from scratch. 2hours later and we had a catsuit! I used plain spandex. : / let's hope I can get the latex look material before Wednesday. Oh here's a pic.

Everything is looking awesome, everyone!

Sadly for me, the athletic material I planned on using was just SO black in comparison to the synthetic boots and gloves that it just looked incredibly cheap all together.

I then moved on and tried to make a suit with PUL in a flat finish, but without the texture I just found it unflattering and too plain looking.

Without any time to order new fabric, I put the project on hold until I can complete it to higher standards instead of wasting money on something I'll want to remake anyways.

With the 3 piece goggle set though, I was able to break it all apart and got it half done before I realized I'd be out of time and without good fabric...So I have the goggles able to spin up ( and omg, it looks fantastic. :| ) but only on one arm thus far.

I can at least take pictures of that and update soon.

I haven't decided if I'm going to try to add texture to some plain PUL myself or go with the fabric similar to gvmaraios...I really, REALLY want to figure something out to match the texture. And now that I have a couple feet to test with, I think I'm going to explore that direction!

Batnismo,
It's AMAZING that you made that catsuit yourself. Everything looks GREAT! ...except for the goggles. How did you make the belt? The pouches look functional.
Happy HALLOWEEN guys!

Oh I think the goggles look fine themselves; they're just sitting on top of her head instead of on the back!

Yeah the Goggles did sit a little High on the head but I made the adjustments to them already. Yeah I had to make the Cat suit ASAP! I was upset that I didn’t get the Original material on time. = / oh and yes the Belt is Functional, she used it to hold make up and ATM/I.D. I used travel containers and then added Details and Carbon Fiber to give them that extra wow.
