Hey guys,

Long time, no post. :)

I'm slowly putting together a Cap Costume from the First Avenger flick.

I'll be using the denim costly suit as a base... with heavy mods, replacing straps, leather bits, buckles, stars, etc...

I'm also making the entire belt, holster straps, and chest pouches from scratch... with real leather, hand sewn and dyed. Going for somewhat accurate... but I'm not worried about being dead-nuts accurate.

Buckles, etc will be 3D printed from the 3D models I made... all ordered, waiting on prints.

Boots will be Jump Boots with hand made double buckle straps.

Gloves have been commissioned from Ravenswood Leather, will have those in a couple of weeks.

The helmet was 3D model and has been printed, will have pics soon! :)

I also have a replica metal airsoft gun that mimics what he used in the movie.

So yeah... it's gonna be rather rad... still gotta work out a shield though..

Here are some pics of the various 3D models that have been printed, and will arrive soon, and other various pieces.

I plan to dye, add in stitches to the pouches, etc... just rough stuff here...

Looks pretty good. :thumbsup
Buckles and hardware look pretty bang on, helmet is a bit off in spots but not bad. :)

Re: Captain America TFA Costume Build - WIP

It should be popular, I am just now seeing it! I love your stuff

Re: Captain America TFA Costume Build - WIP

Thanks man! Ha! My Iron Man, Thor, etc... were a bit more popular... I think Cap is getting a bit burnt out, none the less, this thread will kick loads of ass when I'm done. Big updates coming soon. Cheers!

Disagree. Too many Iron Men not many Caps.
Seems the only people that frequent Captain America threads are those making Cap costumes.

Yours is off to a great start. :thumbsup

Re: Captain America TFA Costume Build - WIP

Re: Captain America TFA Costume Build - WIP

Thanks guys! This is actually my first time working with leather, I just read lots, and I'm super anal retentive and OCD in nature, ha!

Small update:

Back Harness, need to paint and then black wash like I did the buckle... but damn, the print turned out great. :)
