Hi all. This is my first post here, so let's have a drink, ya?! :cheers

Here's a little blueprint that I'm just finishing for the AT-AT. I've done it to improve the two sets of AT-AT which patiently waiting for some time. Already more accurate by the kits from BlueMoon, they'll constitute the cornerstones of 2 dios with also 2 T47 from Retrokit.
The drawing focuses on the head because it is mainly here that there is problem. Let me explain my approach:

The good foundations
No plans without docs from the same name, so after scouring the web a small photographic library was formed (not exhaustive):

Some reference pictures, carefully selected:

First I've reproduced on Illustrator the profiles from the kit (body and leg) to compare:

007Image2.jpg

...And that's matching not so bad.

Subsequently, I made the hotfixes on visual distortions caused by the lens, so that the curves that were supposed to be straight lines come back to their original visual aspect:

... And starts the gas plant:

One must deal with the lines of sight (shortcut between foreground / background ie the perspective):

... Ditto for the front view:

Overview:

... With the body and neck:

At this point, we can check the scale ... So 1/72th or not?

014Image9bis.jpg

015Image10.jpg

016Image11.jpg

... 1/72th for me!

And as I like to tell myself that this four-legged stuff could be functional, failing to exist (and despite all the inconsistencies of SW,to speak only of a technological point ...), I started a cutaway ... Scratch building of the cockpit in anticipation obliges, hehe ...

Small zoom in:

Well, one never claimed that Imperial quadripod was an example of ergonomics ... But that's running.
And after transplanting of the airlock door:

Locked:

... Unlocked:

... And opened:

We arrive at the cutting templates, that I'll print on adhesive sheet to be applied on the boards of styrene:
Here are the first parts:

... And the "final" blueprint:

Voila ... I'd be lying if I said that this was done without difficulty, but I think to be not too far from the truth, right? What do you think guys?

... Well, 'will have to glue some plastic now!

Very nice work Baloo. This is something that I will have to do for my AT-AT as well. I have a question..... What's the keyboard command to take a snapshot of the computer screen?

Thanks so much guys, I appreciate!

@ darth_daniel: ... My research? Yeah, you can say hehe! :wacko

@ Junk Pilot & cavx: You're right; I work on a Mac and no problemo for a PC version of Illustrator (mine is an old CS3).
If someone prefers a PDF (but still coming from AI, so vectorial) it is here:

@ MonsieurTox: Bé alors Julien, t'as déserté le site des colleurs ou quoi? :lol
... Ma présentation était une ode à ton talent... :love

Yes there's an illustrator version for PC (it's an Adobe software).

J, you should have a print screen key on your keyboard (Pc) there's also a key or combination of keys on Mac, thats a long time I havent used one so I cant remember exactly !

Hi Jay! ... And thank you hehe
