At Last. A Truly Accurate First Blood Knife!

LOL. Thanks buddy!! Sorry for the caps...My Bad! I wasn't meaning get them as though I was shouting...But rather, I was just very excited and felt really Blessed.

But anyway, I now see Firsthand just what folks are talking about regarding Andy Wood's FIRST BLOOD and RAMBO MISSION AKA RAMBO 2 movie knives! They just don't Get any better than his!!! Yes Sirs...I am now an Andy Wood Knives fan!!!

I didn't see any prices on Andy Wood's website. Does he still sell the Rambo knives? How much are the knives today? Thanks.

Just e-mail him. Depends on features. He responds pretty dang fast, and is super patient while you wade through the choices. :)

Mine is in the USA, but I haven't seen it yet as I am working overseas until October. :(

As for Britt and Black Starr, I can only speak for myself but my dealings with him have been %100 positive and his First Blood knife, for the price range he is making for, is an outstanding functional tool in my experience, granted that's been a few years ago.

I have been drooling over his (Blackstar Knives) facebook page for a while now. Not sure how I would go importing the thing into Australia though.

You probably would'nt have to worry about that if he is still ripping people off!

He is infamous among knife collectors do a google search on him.

Blade forum has all sorts of people he ripped off.

I sure as hell would'nt trust him :unsure

Really?

Oh man, I remember seeing the film back in the day and wanting a knife so badly I could taset it.

I eventually ordered a cheap knockoff from a post order catalogue (the internet of the 1980s...). The blade was scured to th ehandle bu a short tank screwed on with a nut at the bottom of the handle chamber. It broke when I tried to use it when I was in the army.

It has been quite awhile since I have been in here!! I have a lot of new high quality hanade knives! I even now have Both ANDY WOOD HANDMADE FIRST BLOOD and RAMBO MISSION KNIVES... And I also have a HANDMADE GREG WALL VERSION OF THE RAMBO MISSION KNIFE that he calls THE MISSION II!

I also Finally... FINALLY have a HANDMADE GIL HIBBEN RAMBO 3 KNIFE... #99... And I have 2 HANDMADE TODD BEGG RAZORBACK KNIVES!! Todd's RAZORBACK knives have FIRST BLOOD- style blades but they are FULL TANG and cerakoated ALL BLACK WITH BLACK MICARTA HANDLES!!

Truly beautiful knives, every single one of these!! I have many more new knives too... Some even my Own Designs!! And I also have a HANDMADE NEWT MARTIN/ MARTIN KNIVES MCE II HOLLOW HANDLE KNIFE (REST IN PEACE, AWESOME NEWT MARTIN!!)

Newt Martin sadly and untimely lost his battle with leukemia awhile back!! He was a tremendous knifemaker, very Outgoing with surprises for his customers... At least with Mw he was!!

And Newt gave out Excellent Customer Service!! I just wish that I would of gotten to meet him in person and know him better!!

Anyway... I know that this is a very old thread!! I am hoping that it can be Revived!! LOL!

So just wanted to update this for any fans that may be wanting to purchase a knife currently. So to clarify and anyone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the closest replica that is handmade to the original first Blood knife that is in the movie is still made by Andy Wood? Does he still make these knives as I know that Lile is producing them but from what I've read they are more a tribute knife and are extremely close but not as close as what Andy makes including the sheath which I noticed on the Lile knife currently the button snap on the sharpening stone is actually higher up then what is actually used in the movie

it is great to see this thread still having life after almost 10 years. i am tempted to send a message to Andy Wood at his site to see what the process and timeline would be for having him make a FB version for me. if $1200 is the price and the accuracy is noted as being closer to the hero version than the Lile, i may be in for it. if i understand this correctly, Wood was making (or had permission to make) a Lile stamped FB version for a while, but the current version is now a Wood FB stamped version.
