Alternatives to gelcoat?

Hi! Ok so I pulled my first shell from my new proton pack mould today and find the Gelcoat to still be tacky and overall unpleasent to work with. What are the alternatives to gelcoat for hand lay-ups? I much prefer polyurethane and would love to use this if possible but when I have thickened urethane before it goes like mud which is good for some things but not neat enough pack shells.

So, what could I use besides Gelcoat? Thanks in advance :)

Hi.

You could try an epoxy gel coat but to be honest, I would stick with normal polyester gelcoat. It can have a bit of a learning curve but if you want to, send me a message and I can give you some tips that have helped me out over the years
