Hi Gang,
Spent a little time at the lab last night... Daniel determined that the sound board was shot. Unfortunately it's a custom order board so no sound for a while...
BUT... I did work on the nav chairs...
Adding a 1" strip of MDF(detail) to the backside
Seat #2
More primer / filler
Lots more sanding and filling to go!

As always... thank you for the kind words and comments. I never gave much thought to making a build book, but I do like the idea.
It would be a great coffee table book to go along with my book on coffee tables.

A simple basic shape minus all the little details would be fantastic! It's a VERY tricky piece indeed especially with its size. We don't have a 3D printer large enough and the cost would be WAY too much. That's why I'm leaning toward creating a Pep file. I think this might be easiest and most cost effective. Any chance you can remove those tricky compound curves and make all the edges a simple hard line? I can add the curves later once the Pep file is created and the fiberglass has been added.

Getting there with the nav chairs, seems like that fancy machine sure is useful. Nicely done so far!
Sorry to hear about about the soundboard. I really don't like the sound of that. Alright, sorry, I will stop now. Isn't fun with setbacks, know the felling - but not in that grade!

A quick morning update...
Mike, Daniel and I got to work on cutting the new levers from aluminum... No more breaks and stress cracks!
Cut and the edges filed down
Temp placed in position - needs paint
I love the look of the brushed aluminum
Still need MDF handles and then plasti-dip
This is what happens to acrylic... poor defenseless acrylic...
The weekend is here! Let's hope for a productive one!

Pics from this years Yuri Show at The Huntsville Space and Rocket Center! We had a lot of fun last night. Met some amazing people and hopefully a few new members to the project! We arrived around 6:30 to get set up... The evening went until 2am! ENJOY!

Rob from Mind Gear was kind enough to lend us a flat screen - we ran a slide show of the build. It gave folks a much better understanding of the size and scope of the FSF project
Maybe next year we can bring the cockpit?
