Hello all,

Today i was watching on blu ray the ESB...

What was my surprise, when i saw some familiar parts used on the lifesize Falcon while Chewee and Han are fixing it at the hangar.

I used to Have a Triumph TR6 and a Spitfire...... and i know many parts by heart... and i think that some other were used, like in the Snowspeeder cockpit...

Well, lets go to the facts...

Take a look at the pic that i took from the TV screen...(see at the bottom)

And now look at this Spitfire wheel... :love :love

Definately MK4 & 1500 Spitfire hubcaps, nice find :thumbsup I used to work for a Triumph specialist, I can probably get hold of a few sets of those if required.
I wonder if they used any other Triumph or BL parts :)

Edit: they were also used on the Mk3 GT6 but the GT ones are made from chromed white metal (much harder to find in good condition) while the spit ones are either silver or black plastic.

I always knew the Falcon was a "Triumph" of engineering. At least it seemed to have the same reliability as some British sports cars in any event. ;)

More than likely they were not on the studio models (I've never seen any at least). Full size set piece construction involves a bit of "kitbashing" as well. So while some shapes and pieces were faithfully fabricated from the small models, others took more of a "building a forest instead of each individual tree" approach as it were. So you can get stuff like this happening.

I think that i found another part inside the Snowspeeder cockpit. I will try to make a pic later and post it ....

British car parts on the Falcon, no wonder it was unreliable. Probly had Lucas wiring. Thats really funny in a double meaning kinda way lol. I'm British so I can knock british cars lol. Good find though for sure!

I've heard it mentioned a few time on here about the 1:1 MF build. Is this for real? If so is there a thread for it?

FANTASTIC! GREAT FIND! We should keep a running record of both interior and exterior parts that are identified! If anybody has or can identify these parts PLEASE let me know... Why? Not sure if most are aware but a full scale studio prop of the ESB version of the MF IS in fact being built in Tennessee. Its still in the early stages but the project IS moving forward. Steve Starkiller, Chris Lee and myself (I'm the newest "member") are spearheading this operation and can use ALL the help we can get.

Chris Lee's Full Scale Millennium Falcon | Don't worry, she'll hold together…

I happen to be working on the main instrument console in the cockpit.

Let's keep identifying those parts and make the MF come to life!!!

I've set up a new page on the site for parts like this:
