Tie Bomber Cut Away version

Thank you, Beaz, Julien, Joe, and Jkno! (Jkno, love the collection) I was a bit nervous doing it, there's a reason I work behind the camera.
Big Dog, wow, that's great that I could help get you interested in the world of studio scale model making, and I'm sorry. Let me know if I can help.

More progress!
I can't believe I'm almost done with this project.

So I've got the cockpit mostly done. A little touch up, weathering, some last details and it will be done.
I grew the cockpit walls on our Formlabs 1+ at work. I know it's not exactly the right shape for a TIE cockpit but I was going for more the feel of a TIE than being dead on accurate. Who knows, maybe the TIE bombers have different cockpits, haha.
So the walls and the control stick were grown. The latter was a huge pain. I had to grow it 6 times and redraw it 4 to get it to come out right, it's really small.
The panels inside are laser cut/engraved and painted with a really tiny brush. The seat was just good old scratch built.

The main hulls are pretty much done. Next is paint, weathering, final details and assembly.
I'm hoping to get everything done next week, assuming work slows down.
The cockpit is only in temporarily for now. After final paint it will be glued in.

DONE!!!! Finally. Of course as I was uploading the photos to post I realized, Hey I never put glass in the cockpit. So maybe 99.99% done, haha.
So since I wasn't out to replicate the screen used TIE Bomber exactly I was able to add a lot more weathering to this one. Also, I painted all of what would be the cut edges with gloss red paint, like you see in war museums with tank and airplane cut aways. Anyway on with the photos.

I had the pleasure of seeing this model in person at the LA Prop Party andtalking with Jonathan. Spectacular work! The bomber needs to be done at 1/24 scale to go along side of the rest of the TIE SS Models!

That came out really awesome! I like the red around the cut out parts too, really is such a unique idea...it would be cool to see it done on some other ships too
